Intrepid six brave chilly waters of North Sea

Six hardy members of the Young Christian Worker’s from St Mary’s Chruch in Filey, North Yorkshire braved the freezing waters of the North Sea in December to raise money for CAFOD’s Appeal for the drought-stricken people of Eastern Africa.  The group from the left, Tom Hassel, Joe Smiley, Chris Pinchbeck, Josie Grant, Ewan Camm and Judith Quirk. Josie, parish contact for St Mary’s said, The water was absolutely freezing but the boys went right into the sea until it was above their shoulders, though I only stayed in for five minutes – that was enough for me’! Well done to them all!
