St Peter & St Paul RC Primary School raise £800 for CAFOD

Presenting CAFOD with a cheque for £800

Well done and many thanks to the children and staff at St Peter and St Paul RC Primary School, Leyburn who raised £800 for CAFOD this year through a whole series of events.

The school which has only 27 pupils began raising the money earlier in the academic year. Head teacher, Mrs Annette Sowdon said, “We asked the children what they would like to do to help others less fortunate than themselves and they came up with the idea of raising £750 to buy a Community Water Supply through CAFOD. They actually raised £800 so we have asked CAFOD to buy a Community Water Supply, some chickens and a school starter pack”.

The school presented CAFOD with a cheque during its annual family day on 30 June (pictured) in their wonderful school garden, where they grow their own fruit and vegetables, have a lovely prayer garden and a wood to ramble through, all hidden from view behind the buildings.
