Students question politicians at York University

Students  from York University and the University of York St John questioned a panel of politicians on Friday 11th March on  Aid, the Bribery Act, Climate Change and  International Development.

Among the political representatives were Julian Sturdy, Conservative MP for York Outer, John Battle, former Labour MP for Leeds North, Baroness Haleh Afshar, Crossbench Peer, Andrew Chase PPC, Green Party, Andrew Waller Liberal Democrat Leader of York City Council and Neil Thorns, Director of Advocacy, CAFOD.

The students are all volunteers with CAFOD Middlesbrough, based in Blossom Street in York and organised the event as a local response to visiting CAFOD’s Head Office in London and finding out more about its work. More than 60 students attended the event which was held in Derwent College, University of York, Heslington on Friday evening.
