32nd Anniversary of Romero’s Assassination – Saturday 24th March

Oscar Romero was a priest and bishop in El Salvador. His love for his people who were suffering violence and oppression led him to take their side and to denounce their oppressors. And so he was killed, whilst saying Mass, on 24th March 1980.

This year Saturday March 24th will mark the 32nd anniversary of Archbishop Romero’s assassination. Across Britain around the time of the anniversary there will be religious services, meetings and film showings to commemorate the martyrdom. Together they make up ‘Romero Week’ with many activities on Saturday March 24th itself. For more information visit www.romerotrust.org.uk
