Tour de Fred arrived in our diocese on Monday 10 June at Middlesbrough Cathedral as part of a sponsored bike ride through every diocese in England and Wales to raise funds for the work of CAFOD. Over the next few weeks Fred and his support team; Mark (Paralympian) and John (a local author in Burnley) will be covering around 1,000 miles. They will be visiting parishes and schools along the way. It’s a huge effort by three men who have ‘Big Hearts’. It was a privilege to meet them and spend time with them. Fred, Mark and John visited St Augustine’s Primary School at Coulby Newham this morning and the pupils sent them on their way with a packed lunch for their journey to Durham.

Thank you to everyone at the Cathedral Parish and St Augustine’s for their generosity and hospitality.

Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

You can still contribute to the efforts of Fred and his friends. Why not hold a fundraising event in your parish, school or college to help Fred raise as much as possible for CAFOD’s work in Bangladesh.
