Early in January, I was invited to visit St Patrick’s Catholic College to collect a cheque. While there, I learned that during October and November last year, five Year 7 and Year 8 pupils remained in school on Tuesday evenings to manufacture, decorate and assemble Christmas decorations in order to sell for charitable purposes.
The pupils then attended the Thornaby Bazaar in the Pavillion Library and Stockton Sparkles Children’s Christmas Market where they sold their handiwork. They also sold their products in school and have so far raised over £1000 for CAFOD. At the time of writing the fundraising is still on going and the pupils anticipate raising even more money from their peers and the staff of the school. Well done to the young people for giving their time so generously and for their remarkable initiative!
