Christ The King Primary School, Thornaby, presented a cheque from their fund raising to CAFOD representatives Carol, Margaret and Obinna. The school have raised a huge amount of £1,388.40 The cheque presentation came after Carol spoke about how the money will be used in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Eritrea, using a power point presentation. She congratulated them on how brilliant they have been, what their kindness means to other people who are in need and where the funds they have raised will be going. Carol asked a question of the pupils, “if any one can tell why they did what they have done”. They came up with fantastic answers, mostly when one child said they are extending their kindness to help the people in need to have the same good life they are having. Obinna asked the Head of School, Mrs Lickess how they managed to generate such an amount for charity, and she replied that the amount was raised over the year through different means like coffee mornings with parents, cake stalls, and raffles, What wonderful pupils!
At the end of the assembly, the CAFOD team thanked the school for their generosity and the Head of school, Ms Lickess expressed her gratitude and thanked the CAFOD team for visiting the school.
