Visitors from Niger, Nicaragua and Nigeria to Middlesbrough School

Three overseas visitors spent time in a Middlesbrough school to share more about the vital work they carry out in some of the world’s poorest countries.

Moise, Kelechi and Winston spoke about their work for CAFOD

Moise Liboto Makuta, Kelechi Emeh and Winston Berrios spoke to pupils at St Peter’s Catholic College about their experiences in Niger, Nigeria and Nicaragua respectively.

The trio all work as Overseas Programme Officers for CAFOD.

Moise and Kelechi talked at length about the impact that climate change is having on the communities where they work and how these communities experience extreme weather conditions such as floods and droughts.

Winston spoke to the schoolchildren about the challenges in Nicaragua to local communities who are being dispossessed of their land by multi-national corporations.
